Blogging goals and reading goals for 2022

Hey everyone and welcome to Owl Book World! Today I’m talking about my blogging goals and reading goals for 2022. I’m hoping to use this as a way to hold myself accountable with my blog. I’ve been blogging for three years now and there’s a part of me that feels like it’s going nowhere. Don’t get me wrong I do want blogging to be fun. But I also want to be able to grow and make money for it. Making money from book blogging is such a touchy subject within the community. I don’t get why making money with it is such an issue because we put so much work into it. Bloggers put a lot of work into what they do. And we basically promote things for free while others are paid for their work.

That’s beside the point though. I want to build a community with my blog. I also want to make friends with those who read the same thing as me. After all of these years, I still feel like I’m not really connecting with other bloggers. I just hope I can strive for it! Granted not really connecting with others is partly my fault. I struggle to find a good balance between working on my blog and spending time with my family. This hinders me actually connecting with others on social media. This year it’s time to do better and be better.

2022 Book Adaptations to look out for

Hey everyone and welcome to Owl Book World! Today I am talking about 2022 book adaptations. Am I the only one that looks at what books are getting turned into movies the following year? This is something that I try to do nearly every year because I either like finding out if there are any books I have read that are getting an adaptation or if there are any books that I need to check out.

I am definitely one of those people that needs to read the book before the movie. Why? It’s not really for snobbery the movie like a lot of people do. I mostly want to read them before the movie because I know if I don’t then I won’t even bother reading the book. There are so many things that a movie changes or don’t even bother including that it’s almost a sin to not even read the book. So why don’t I bother reading them if I watch the movie first? Most of the time the end result is going to be the same. It’s not very often that the ending of a movie differs from the book. Because of this, I don’t exactly get excited to find out what’s going to happen in the book which makes it hard for me to find any interest in the story.

What is Bookshop and why should you use them?

Hey everyone and welcome to Owl Book World! With there being a lot of readers out there I want to be able to give everyone another option of where to get books. I’m getting to the point where I’m getting tired of putting money into someone’s pocket that makes three times as someone who owns an independent book store. I’d rather put my money towards someone who actually needs it and it probably struggling right now because of covid. If I’m like that then I’m sure there are even more people out there who feel the same way. Eventually, I’m going to do a post on alternatives of Amazon but first I want to bring up Bookshop. What is Bookshop? And exactly do they help independently owned stores?
