Books you can’t put down (and want to skip class for)

Life is great. You wake up well rested and get to do all of the things that you want to do. That includes reading books that you enjoy. You’re getting unlimited uninterrupted reading time and almost every book you’re reading are books you can’t put down. Sounds amazing, right?

I know it does for me. Getting to spend the day reading is a dream of mine, and young adult me didn’t realize how good she had it. Now I have kids, so that makes it a lot harder to do until they get older. Which is okay with me because I love spending time with them. But what that means is that I can’t waste time on books that aren’t going to interest me. If you’re going to school, then I’m sure it’s the same way for you, too.

Books you can't put down

Is it just me, or are a lot of the books you can’t put down lists always consist of the same few books? It gets a little repetitive in my opinion. I know there’s a reason for this. These are popular books, and a lot of these are books that are hard to put down for quite a lot of people. There’s a reason why these books are highly recommended and why they are always on a list of books you can’t stop reading.

I understand why these books are always on the lists. But I wanted to create a unique list of books that you don’t see all that often. Yes, there are a few on here that are pretty popular, but not many of them. A lot of these books are for varying ages because reading isn’t just for adults, but for everyone.

Books you can’t put down

These are just a few books I couldn’t put down. I’m a very picky reader sometimes, so if these books were able to keep me attentive, then that means something! Hopefully, you find a book on this list that you won’t be able to put down either.

The Guest List

Books you can't put down

The Guest List just might be the only one on this list that I have seen on many books you can’t put down lists. It’s for good reason, too. When I was reading this story, I could NOT put it down. The story is very fast-paced, and I could not put the book down! There were a lot of twists and turns in it as well.

What is it about thrillers that take place on an island that grabs most of our attention? Honestly, if I were rich enough, I would love, love, love to have a wedding on an island. Maybe. I’m not all that extra like the bride in this book, but I would at least like to vacation there.

Here is what The Guest List is about.

It’s the wedding of the decade. Everyone important is there for her. The wedding is supposed to be perfect, but people are human. The groomsmen started a drinking game they used to do in school. A bride made not-so-accidental messes in her dress. And the bride’s oldest best male friend makes a highly uncomfortable toast. It’s all just a bit of a hiccup in the day until they find a dead body.

Soulmatch

Books you can't put down

If you’re wondering why you haven’t heard of Soulmatch, then there’s a good reason for that. This story is new, and it’s a pretty good dystopian novel. Soulmatch is a story that explores reincarnation and introduces a new twist to this genre. Let’s just say that this twist is what actually made me really like this story.

I’m almost certain that this story will become quite popular once it’s released and more people discover it. I’m pretty excited to see how this one blows up! If you’re interested in YA fantasy, then I highly suggest checking this book out!

The Perfect Marriage

Books you can't put down

I’m sure so many of you have heard of The Perfect Marriage. This story is the perfect example of books you can’t put down, because I know so many people who couldn’t. Even though the story kind of made me mad, I was also one of those people.

The Perfect Marriage had quite a few people in their grip. And one of the great things is that this book is in the works of getting a movie, so it’s the perfect time to read it! Another great perk is that the second book is already out, and it’s called The Perfect Divorce. This way, you won’t finish the first book only to want to go ahead and read the second book.

I promise this is going to be one of those books that you can’t put down. You’re not going to want to!

Two Sides to Every Murder

Books you can't put down

The author of Two Sides to Every Murder has become one of my go-to authors. Once I find out that she has a book coming out, then she winds up being an auto-buy. I feel like she’s that good with writing and with plotting twists and turns.

Her stories are quite literally the books I think about when someone brings up books you can’t put down!

Here is what Two Sides to Every Murder is about!

Not everyone spends their life on the run with a murderer, but Reagan has. According to the community and the court, her mom is the one who is guilty of the murders, and they’ve been on the run since then.

Oona Out of Order

I’m going to be honest, I don’t remember how I found this book. Oona Out of Order isn’t even the type of book that I normally go for. It’s a contemporary novel, and usually I go for horror and thriller books. That’s just usually what I like.

But when I read this book, I needed a break from the darker stuff. And honestly, I’m glad that I wound up picking this book up. It kind of makes you wonder how you would handle things if you were pretty much living your life out of order. Personally I don’t think I would like it at all, but the concept is great.

Here is what Oona out of order is about!

On New Year’s Eve in 1982, Oona has her whole life ahead of her. She’s about to turn nineteen years old, and she can do anything she wants to. When the countdown begins, Oona passes out and wakes up thirty-two years in the future. And this starts her path to waking up every new year at a different (and unrealistic) age.

Just give me a second to tell you what this book is about, so I can rave about this book. I’m pretty sure this was the author’s debut novel, and I love love love it. I think she kind of outdid herself with her very first book. When I say I like horror, these are the types of horror books that I like.

Now this is one of the books you can’t put down, and I highly recommend it. That is, if you don’t mind young adult books and don’t mind horror books. It’s worth reading,g in my opinion.

Wicked Little Deeds

Honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve read Wicked Little Deeds, so I don’t remember exactly what the story was about. I’m going to be honest, it doesn’t matter how much I like the book; I always wind up forgetting what it was about after so long. But what usually sticks with me is how I felt about the book.

When I read the story, I remember how much I loved the story and how much it grabbed my attention and how I want it to keep going. I’ll probably wind up reading this book again soon just so I can jog my memory!

Here is what Wicked Little Deeds is about.

Burden Falls is a town full of superstition. Ava knows this well.

My Lovely Wife

I’m going to be honest that I was a little skeptical about reading My Lovely Wife. Mostly because yes, it is a popular book. A lot of people liked it. But I haven’t exactly seen it on any list of books you can’t put down yet. So, I wound up getting a little worried about whether or not I was going to like the book or not. Typically, I don’t like popular books as much as it seems others do. But I loved this book.

There are a lot of twists and turns, and it does a really good job in keeping your head stuck in the book.

Here is what My Lovely Wife is about.

The Beast and the Bethany

The Beast and the Bethany is a middle-grade novel that is worth reading for every middle grader and every adult who likes fantasy-type books. Yes, it’s aimed towards a younger crowd, but it’s so fun.

I know many of you guys are probably wondering why I’m adding a middle-grade book on here. Seriously, just read it.

Honestly, when I first read it, I didn’t think that I would enjoy it all that much because of the fact that it is aimed towards a younger crowd. It’s not for me. It’s for them. But who is to say you can’t read a middle-grade book for what it is and enjoy it? It’s not going to be this groundbreaking book, but they can still be good, and that’s exactly what this book was.

Here is what The Beast and the Bethany is about.
