Hi everyone! Welcome to Owl Book World. My name is Kaili and I’m the one who runs the blog. October is right around the corner and you know what that means….New books (as if we can read them all). Is there any October 2021 book releases that you are interested in reading?
There are actually several October 2021 book releases that I have an ARC of and need to start reading soon. I can’t even begin to explain how far behind I am on my reading but I will get there. I just hope you’re not in the same situation as me. If so I’m sorry if you wind up getting any of these books lol!
Hey everyone! Can you guys believe it’s almost September (or it already is by the time that you are reading this)? Are there any September 2021 Book Releases that you are excited about?
In this list, I’m writing about September 2021 book releases that I’m pretty excited about and I hope you guys are too. Thankfully all of these I already have a copy of so I will be linking reviews to this post as the month goes by.
I love finding out what books are going to be released each month. Why? Well because my TBR (to be read) isn’t already big enough (complete sarcasm). Granted if I do find a book that I’m really wanting I probably won’t buy it right away, but I will add it to my wish list in case I want it later. If I don’t save it then I will probably forget all about it! If you want to see the full synopsis of these books then you can find them on Goodreads. Here is the list of September 2021 Book Releases that I CANNOT wait to read!
The Children’s Secret (Sept 7) – The Children’s Secret is a September 2021 release that’s coming out on the 7th. Nothing ever happens in Middlebrook. It’s called a sleepy town for a reason. But one hot Saturday afternoon a back-to-school party is thrown. A few kids who quickly grow bored go to the barn and ultimately one of them ends up getting shot by another kid. The media has a frenzy over the whole incident and starts asking questions some of the parents don’t know how to answer. One of those questions is what kind of parents are they to let them play unsupervised? As the investigation progresses the police have many questions such as out of the nine children who pulled the trigger? And why are the other kids keeping silent about the whole thing?
Never Saw Me Coming (Sept 7) – Never Saw me Coming follows Chloe Sevre. She’s a freshman and just so happens to be the hot girl next door. Her hobbies include yoga, frat parties. and planning to kill her childhood friend. Chloe is one of few students who are a part of a clinical study for psychopaths. They are required to wear watches that track their mood and their activities. When one of the students in the program is killed, Chloe goes from hunter to prey. Can she really trust any of the other psychopaths in the program?
The Missing Hours (Sept 10) – The Missing Hours follows Claudia Castro. From a distance, it looks like she has it all. Her family is famous, has a trust fund, thousands of followers on Instagram, and a guaranteed spot in NYU. If you were to look closer you would see that her parents are divorcing, she’s been humiliated by a documentary, and her sister is having an accidental baby with a guy she doesn’t even know. She tries to start off the school year on a positive note but after one drunken night, everything changes. When school starts back up after spring break Claudia is missing. Now the whole city is out looking for her but will she be found? Does she even want to be found?
Generation Manifestation (Sept 14) – Generation Manifestation is about The Genetic Wars that turned the planet into a wasteland. Now that war is over and the dregs (DNA regulars) and the superpowered Supergenics now live separately from each other. When some parents bear Supergenic children they by law have to send them to live with the other Supergenics. When the testing day comes, Caitlin Feral hopes to manifest powers like superheroes in comic books. How much will Caitlin give up in order to become a supergirl? When she uncovers dark secrets, should she start another war when one just ended?
The Spires (Sept 21) – The Spires follows Penelope Cox and she barely has her life together. When her past comes knocking on her door she is forced to help an old college roommate who is trying to escape an abusive husband. She’s not bothered about the inconvenience of having there but she is bothered by the memories she drags up. Twenty years ago Penelope lived with her friend along with several other people. They got along fine until they didn’t. Having wild parties almost frequently jealousy, resentment, unrequited love, and obsession spiral up. When they all get into a fight the night ends up in flames, literally. Now her friend is the perfect house guest and helps when needed, but Penelope can’t help but wonder if she’s hiding something.
The Stowaway ( Sept 21) – Two years ago, Maria Fontana was the deciding vote on a jury that set a supposed serial killer free. Now she and her family are on vacation on a two-week-long cruise. At first, they are actually enjoying themselves. When guests are found brutally murdered just like they were years ago when she was on the jury, the ship goes on lockdown. Maria is one of only twelve people who knows about the details of the case from years ago. Is this new person just a copycat? Or is it the same person?
This is Why we Lie (Sept 21) – Everyone in Gardiners Bay has a secret. When Jenna and Adam find Colleen’s body floating off the shore, the whole town is shaken up. What has the town even more torn up is that her drowning was no accident. When Jenna’s best friend becomes a key suspect she decides to take matters into her own hands. As she looks for the truth she uncovers scandals that have taken place at her school. Since there are others at her school who knows she trying to uncover the truth she ends up getting a lot of judgemental looks. As lies unravel, the whole truth starts to blur. Can Jenna and Adam figure out what’s happening?
Deep in the heat and silence of rural Tennessee, down an untraveled road, sits the forgotten town of Three Summers. Mere miles away, on an overgrown river island, stands the house that once presided over the grand plantation of Angel’s Landing, moss-draped, decrepit. Waiting.
Failing crime writer Bradley Ellison and former prostitute Missy Holiday are drawn to this place, fleeing a world turned against them. For Brad, it is work—he must find a compelling story before the true-crime magazine he writes for judges him expendable. For Missy, it is recuperation—four years at “the club” have left her drained.
But the price of peace is high, and soon Brad and Missy discover that something hides behind the quiet. Something moves in the night. Something that manifests itself in bizarre symbols and disturbing funeral rites. Something that twists back through time and clings in the dust of the ancient house. A presence they must uncover before their own past catches up with them.
The Orphan Witch is a September 2021 book release coming out on the 28th. Persephone May was abandoned as a baby and has been alone for most of her life. She wants to belong somewhere but it doesn’t help that she was dragged through the foster care system. She’s lonely and on top of that, she’s a bit strange. Weird things always happen when she’s around and those who want her in their family quickly push her away. In order to cope with things she never makes friends or gets close to anyone. After an accident and a very public display of power, she has to run… again. When the only friend she’s managed to keep invites her over she can’t believe her luck. When she arrives she realizes that where her friend lives is no ordinary place. In fact, it might just be the place that can give her answers.
Welcome to Owl Book World! I hope everyone is doing okay and hanging in there. I know the past couple of years have been a little tough with COVID and not really being able to do anything. On the plus side, you’re probably reading a lot. Are you guys young adult fans? You must be if you’re on this post. Today I’m talking about YA thrillers which just so happens to be one of my favorite genres in this age group. Some of the books I’m going to recommend are probably some you haven’t heard while there are some you probably have.
Hey everyone! Today I’m writing a post of the most overrated books that I’ve read. This is my opinion and my opinion only. These are all books that I’ve read and just didn’t really like. I feel like I would have liked these titles so much more if they weren’t such overhyped books. Typically when I read something that a lot of people really liked I end up not liking it much at all. I’m sure it’s this way for a lot of readers.
Hey everyone and welcome to Owl Book World! Today I wanted to talk about trigger warnings. What are trigger warnings? Are they spoilers? And what are the benefits/disadvantages of having them? Trigger warnings seem to be a pretty heated discussion with readers, especially those who like to read horror books. I’ve probably seen more people who are against trigger warnings than those who are for them. Even though I understand why I also want to talk about why they can be beneficial.
A lot of people seem to think that trigger warnings are spoilers and that they seem to give away too much. I do kind of get that and I understand why some people wouldn’t want to see them. But I can also see the perks of it especially when readers have the opportunity to decide if they want to read it or not. Read more “Trigger Warnings for books”
Hey everyone and welcome to Owl Book World. Reading slumps are something that I’ve been wanting to talk about for a while now. A lot of bloggers talk about reading slumps like they are a bad thing. In a way I guess they sometimes can be especially if reading is your only hobby. Or it can potentially be a bad thing if you have a lot of ARCs (advanced reader copies) that are going to be published soon.
Hey everyone! Welcome to Owl Book World. YA dystopian novels are the type of book list that I’ve been wanting to do for a while because I don’t see many people reading dystopian novels anymore. Maybe I’m just not looking hard enough and looking, though. I love YA dystopian novels, and I do kind of read them often, or at least I used to. I haven’t been reading them as much lately because I have been reading a lot of YA thrillers and YA Horror.
On this list, I have a good mix of books that get a lot of attention and some that don’t get enough attention at all. I like having a good mix of both because there’s a good chance you may not have heard of them. Or this list would be your sign of getting that book!
Hey everyone and welcome to Owl Book World! Can you guys believe that it’s May already? I know I can’t. It seems like just yesterday it was January. This year is going by so fast and I don’t really know if I like that at all! But now that it’s May you know what that means right? Mother’s Day is coming up and it’s time to figure out what to get her. If your mother is a reader then I have some of the best ideas for you. I’ve compiled a list of the best books for mom on Mother’s Day.
All of these books I have on the list are ones I’ve read at some point since I’ve started blogging. They are a little unconventional but these are the best books for the mom who isn’t a fan of romance or books that will make you cry.
I rounded up a list of books with kick a** mothers that your mother may enjoy reading. Most of these are horror/thrillers but I do have one that is a women’s fiction story.
Welcome to Owl Book World! If you’re new here, then my name is Kaili. Today, I’m talking about young adult horror books that you really should be adding to your TBR. Whether you’re looking for a book for yourself or looking for a book for a teenager in your life, these are all excellent books.
This is a post that I’ve been wanting to do for a while now, because it seems like some readers genuinely didn’t know that there are young adult horror books out there. Or there are readers out there who kind of want to dig their toes into the genre, but they don’t exactly want to read anything super scary. That’s why I wanted to create this post. There seem to be a lot of people who don’t know where to start when it comes to horror, and they don’t want to read something pretty extreme. I can’t say that I blame them because the genre can be a bit overwhelming.
Hi everyone! I’m sure if you are here, you are wondering if Kindle Unlimited is worth it. I’m here to help you decide if this is something that you want to look into or if it’s something that you want to pass up on. I do want to state that I do have Kindle Unlimited, and I enjoy it. You get to discover a lot of books that you wouldn’t otherwise find. So, I hope this post helps explain exactly what it is and if it’s really worth it in your household.
