Her Dark Lies by J. T. Ellison book review
Her Dark Lies Book summary
Her Dark Lies follows Claire Hunter who is about to marry Jack Compton. Jack is rich, handsome, and a very important man. So, Claire has no idea how she landed such a wonderful guy. They’re supposed to be getting married off the Italian coast with close friends and family. Being there can also help Jack keep an eye on Claire and make sure nothing bad happens to her. But when exactly that happens Jack is baffled and tries to figure out the best way to protect Claire. But it seems like Claire has a flair for getting trapped. On top of that, her dress has been ruined and she knows that someone is keeping a close watch on her. But who would be so against her getting married?
What I thought about Her Dark Lies:
Her Dark Lies is the second book I’ve read by J. T. Ellison. The First one was Good Girls Lie and I absolutely loved it. When given the opportunity to join a blog tour for this one I just had to do it! Thankfully I was not let down. It did end up taking me a little bit longer to finish the book than I would have liked but I was also going through a lot when I started reading it. This book takes place on the coast of Italy where Jack is really able to keep an eye on his soon-to-be wife. Not because he doesn’t trust her but because his family seems to have a lot of enemies.

The Characters
The story mostly follows Claire through the entire book but in the second half, you do get other perspectives. You even get the perspective of the person that’s after Claire and Jack but you don’t find out who they are until towards the ending of the book.
I found myself really liking Claire but once things started hitting the fan and she finds out Jack has some enemies out there, I’m really surprised she doesn’t run. As much as I hate to say it I think I would have. I don’t really want a life where I have to keep certain things a secret or have to look over my shoulder because someone who is after my husband could be after me too. Then again I guess that’s why we all have certain tastes and things we’re all willing to deal with.
The only thing that I didn’t really care for is the person who was after them and trying to make their wedding a living hell. I guess I just didn’t get this person’s reasoning or maybe I ended up missing it. I won’t go into detail because you’ll just have to find out for yourself and I don’t want to accidentally give anything away!
The Plot
The Plot of Her Dark Lies is soo good! As I stated the only downside is the killer’s motives. Parts of this person’s motives are so overly done when it comes to thrillers so it came to no surprise. But the book is still pretty fast-paced and grabbed my attention from the very beginning. I can’t wait to read more books by J. T. Ellison.
