Books about cults that you should read

I don’t know if you’re anything like me but I love learning about cults. I’m not completely sure what it is but I enjoy it. It’s probably because I always want to learn how people fall for it. It’s not that I don’t think I wouldn’t fall for it myself but how I can actively avoid it. So, that’s why I’m creating this list of books about cults.

Granted this list is full of fictional books but those are the ones that I actually like to start off with. I’m a lot bigger on fictional books than I am on nonfiction. If any of you guys are interested in a nonfiction list then let me know in the comments.

Free Streaming Services to save you money

If you’re anything like me then you probably think that there are way too many streaming services out there. After Netflix, it seems like they are popping up everywhere and that means more money coming out of our bank accounts. That’s partly why I started to do some research on some free streaming services and maybe start eliminating some of the ones we are paying for.

Don’t get me wrong I love having access to movies and shows right at my fingertips. It makes it easier on me like I’m sure it makes things easier for everyone else. But!! It is getting so expensive it just might be more logical to go back to cable. Then we would have mostly everything at our fingertips. That is everything but the original shows and movies that are on these different platforms.

Free streaming services

So, are there any streaming platforms where we can watch certain things for free? Instead of letting them pile up and getting well over the price point of what cable ever was, there are other alternatives we can do. I do have to say that the only downside is that if you like some of the originals that some of these streaming services have then that can be kind of a bummer.

I do have to say that a lot of the original content that I do enjoy is pretty much all on Netflix. There are some I have tried on other services but I just couldn’t get into them. Because of that, I’m free to not worry about what streaming services I am on.

So, what are the best free streaming services and what are their downsides?

Free Streaming services

A few of these free streaming services are ones we have used while there are others I have either never heard of or didn’t even know were a thing. But at least now you are able to try out some new streaming services that will cost you nothing.

Peacock

So I have mixed feelings about Peacock.

We do have it and there have been several shows and movies that we have watched on there. My only issue with them is that it seems like they are trying their hardest to get you to select a plan that actually costs money.

There are tons of free movies and shows on there but they do have some that are locked until you pay for the platform.

I do suggest at least trying Peacock. There have been quite a few movies and shows that we have watched on there and I do feel like the free version is worth it.

Freevee

So, I’m a little surprised because I have not heard of Freevee.

I think this goes to show that I really haven’t been watching tv much lately.

This is one free streaming service that I’m going to have to try and see if there’s anything I might enjoy on it. This is an Amazon service so you know they are probably finding a way to earn some money through it. If you have used this service then let me know in the comments what you think about it!

Vudu

When I did some research for this blog post Vudu was one of the free streaming services that popped up. I have heard of this one but I didn’t really know much about it. I do kind of feel like I have been sleeping on this one.

Looking more into it there are several movies on there that I have never heard of but there are a couple that I have.

I know I know it seems like I haven’t heard of the movies on quite a few of these. With COVID I feel like I have been out of the loop with any type of movie or show.

So, who knows. You might actually know some of the movies that are streaming on a lot of these streaming services.

Redbox

Don’t get me wrong I knew about Redbox. I have known about Redbox for a while.

What I didn’t know is that they have a free streaming service.

As I look more into it though those that are free are ones that I have never even heard of. There are a few here and there that I have heard of before but there are more I haven’t heard of than I actually have.

I say that Redbox is a free streaming service that I would actually check out. Who knows there might be some movies that you actually watch.

Let me know if it sounds more interesting to you than it did to me.

Pluto TV

Plut Tv is actually one that we use. When we canceled our cable this was the first thing that we got. It’s one that I absolutely love because there were certain things on cable that I really enjoyed watching. Now I am able to watch some of those things on Pluto TV.

The only downside is that some of the things on here are a bit old. There are no original shows or movies. It’s pretty much just a mock-up of actual cable.

If you’re okay with that then I would suggest getting this free streaming service.

Tubi

I’m going, to be honest. I have actually been sleeping on Tubi.

I’m not really sure why I haven’t looked into free streaming services a whole lot sooner.

From what I can tell it seems like there are a lot of popular movies on Tubi. There are quite a few movies that I wouldn’t mind watching over again.

Since I haven’t used this service before I can’t say that I fully recommend using this one. But it does seem like Tubi is a little bit more worth it than the rest of the services.

If you use this service then let me know what you think!

Crackle

This is the first time that I’m actually hearing about Crackle and I think there’s a good reason for that.

Looking more into it it seems like a lot of the stuff that they have on there is pretty old. Most of it I haven’t even heard of it.

I don’t know if I fully suggest this one because of that. However, I do recommend looking into it because there might be some things you might enjoy on there.

Not only that but you might recognize some of the movies and shows on there even though I don’t.

Free streaming services

Xumo

So, it seems like Xumo is very similar to Pluto TV. It basically mimics cable and allows you to watch just like you would with actual cable.

The only difference is that Xumo seems to have a little bit more options. You can watch movies and tv shows on both but Xumo gives you them upfront.

Both of them seem like a really good option in order to replace your cable.

Hopefully, this list helps you figure out what streaming services you want to start using. A least all of these are free and you can go through your other streaming services and see what you can maybe get rid of.

What free streaming services do you use? Let me know in the comments if there are any free streaming services I may have missed!
