Inspirational Fiction Books to add hope to your life
Welcome to Owl Book World! For the past couple of months, I have been interested in inspirational fiction books or just inspirational books in general. The last year I have noticed that I haven’t been happy. With covid, a lot has been happening and I’m sure a lot of people are getting depressed just as much as I am. It’s not fun and I’m sure there are just as many people who are getting fed up with it as much as I am. Back in November and December, I started noticing that reading feel-good books or books that just overall inspires you was actually making me feel better.
I know reading feel-good books to make you feel better really isn’t anything new. But a lot of people don’t really think about it or they think it really won’t help. To me, it’s worth a shot to get our mindset back where it needs to be.
Every once in a while I do read inspirational fiction books I just never read many self-help books. But that has changed a lot over the past couple of months. Why? Being negative was getting old and was taking a huge toll on my mental health. I was getting to the point where I was never happy. I was getting burnt out on blogging, burnt out on reading, and I was getting mad over every little thing. It’s getting old and I don’t like being so unhappy.
I’m not saying reading inspirational fiction books will help everyone but they do tend to give you hope and inspire you to do better. Right now I feel like just about everyone needs hope and inspiration. It’s time to get in a better place mentally.
So, if you’re looking for motivational fiction books then maybe you should check out a few of these on the list.
Inspiration Fiction books
In the time of covid, I think just about everyone needs some hope and inspiration. I get that these books aren’t really for everyone. These books have either helped me in some way or I feel like they might help someone else. If these are the type of books you’re looking for then I hope these help you like they did me.
The Five People you Meet in Heaven
The Five People you Meet in Heaven follows 83-year-old Eddie. He’s a wounded war veteran who feels like he has lived an uninspired life. Now he works at an amusement park fixing up rides. On his birthday he’s tragically killed trying to save a girl’s life. When he wakes up he learns that heaven is a place where your life is explained to you by five different people. Some of the people he knows while others are strangers.
I know The Five People you Meet in Heaven isn’t really for everyone. Most of you might not be Christian so you don’t really want to read something that revolves around Christian themes. For those of you who are Christian or don’t mind reading something revolving around Christian themes then I highly recommend checking out this book.
Why is The Five People you meet in Heaven a good recommendation for inspirational books?
So, I have obviously read this book before even though it has been a while. It is a great motivational fiction book because there are so many people out there who feel like they don’t amount to anything in their life. I’m one of those people even though I’m really trying to change my mindset on that.
The Five People you Meet in Heaven is a good book that will make you realize that if you don’t think you amount to anything then you probably do. You never really know how you affect people and at some point, you have probably inspired someone or at least given them hope. Sometimes we just have a hard time seeing what we’re capable of.

The Midnight Library
The Midnight Library follows a woman who isn’t happy with herself or her life. When she attempts to kill herself she goes to her in between which just so happens to be a library. Her librarian happens to be a librarian she had back in grade school. The purpose of this in-between is to see what life she would have had if she went a different direction.
I don’t know why it took me so long to read The Midnight Library but I’m so glad that it. I feel like the book came at the right time because I’m the type of person that tends to kick myself for not doing something. An example is that I regret not going to school for something that I wanted to do with my life. I regret not sticking with drawing and getting better with it or not completing a book a lot sooner since it’s something I have always wanted to do.
So why did I add The Midnight Library to my inspirational fictional books list? Everyone regrets something so who cares?
The Midnight Library is a great inspirational fiction book because it makes you realize that some of the things you regret may not have turned out the way you wanted anyways. Sometimes we think something is so great and would be so much fun but in reality, we probably wouldn’t have liked it anyway. This book is a good example of changing the things you regret. At least change the ones you can and find a way to let the ones you can’t change go. I know it’s not easy because I struggle with it as well but life is too short to regret things.

The Walk
Alan Christoffersen lost everything. He loses his wife, his job, and his home. He’s tempted by his darkest thoughts with a bottle of pills in hand and nothing else to live for. Instead, he goes for a walk. It’s not an ordinary walk though and he encounters some of the most interesting people and learns lessons from them.
I actually haven’t read The Walk but I discovered it when I was doing some research on this post. It’s a book I have actually never heard of but now I want to check it out.
So, why exactly did I add The Walk to the inspirational fiction books list? Especially if it’s a book I have never read before.
I added the book to the list because the synopsis really gets you thinking. If that little description gets you thinking that much then I’m sure the book will too. A lot of us at some point think that the world will be better off without us. I know I have. Don’t get me wrong though I have not and will not contemplate suicide there are times I just wish I wasn’t here anymore like the character in this book. But from the way, the story sounds talking to other people about their struggles kind of puts things into perspective. With some people, you will realize you have things a lot better than they do. With others, you’ll realize that you have things worse off.
To me, The Walk is a great example of how everyone struggles. Even the people who look happy and seem to have everything going for them struggle with something. I don’t think you would be human if you didn’t at least struggle with something in your lifetime. It’s all about how you deal with that struggle and overcome it because you can’t live there forever. Or really you shouldn’t live there forever because life wouldn’t be worth living.

The Confession Club
In Mason, Missouri a group of friends start a supper club to bring them closer together. It starts off as a time to spend together laughing, talking, and sharing recipes. That all changes when one of the women shares something intimate. The supper club ends up becoming a confession club where they talk about some of their most embarrassing stories. Everyone needs a good friend to talk to.
The Confession Club is another book I found for the inspirational fiction books list that I haven’t gotten around to. I love that I’m finding all of these new to me books because who doesn’t need motivational fiction books at some point in their life?
I know this story may not exactly seem inspirational just by the synopsis. At least not really. So, why am I adding it to the list?
I feel like our world has gotten to the point where we really can’t talk to each other. Someone is always getting offended, mad, upset, or they just don’t want to hear what you have to talk about. We’ve gotten to a point where we can’t really talk to each other and talk about how we feel. To me is kind of disappointing because I know so many people would probably feel better about things and with their life if they could just talk to someone without having to pay someone to listen to them. So, I find that the ladies in this book are able to talk to one another inspiring. Yes, it may feel weird to them but they learn to be open with one another.
Hopefully, I’m not alone in thinking that we can’t talk to anyone much anymore because it feels like no one wants to hear it.

A Different Kind of Normal
Jaden Bruxelle knows how precious life is. She sees it every day working as a hospice nurse. She sees it in Tate, the boy she has raised since her sister gave him up. Tate is seventeen, brilliant, and funny. But he has an abnormally large head which makes it hard for him to fit in at times. Through his blog, he slowly reaches out and tries finding his voice.
So, I was a bit skeptical about adding this to the inspiration fiction books list. To me, the whole idea of one of the characters having an exceptionally large head was just weird to me and I don’t know why. But now that I’m thinking about it the book would be perfect for inspiration and hope.
Why exactly did I add A Different Kind of Normal when at first I didn’t think it would be that inspirational?
I added the book because everyone in the world is different. We’re not all exactly alike and that’s the point. This world would be a boring place if we were. But there are people out there who are different in ways that we don’t see on a daily basis. Sometimes this world doesn’t treat them the best even though they can’t help that they were born that way.
This story puts a different perspective on inspiration and how those who have a bigger difference in this world can still strive. Even those who have a different perspective on things can find inspiration in this story and strive to be better and do better. Sometimes things aren’t as bad as it seems and you can always find your voice somewhere.

I hope this list helps anyone who needs a little bit of uplifting. Sometimes life is just hard, and even though some of us are good at lifting our spirits up we still need a little bit of help. Let me know in the comments what books added a little bit of hope or inspiration to your life. Even if it only helped a little bit they can still potentially help others more!
Like I said before inspirational fiction books can truly help as long as you go into the story with an open mind and an open heart.
