About Made you up
Alex has a daily battle of trying to figure out if her reality is real or not. The only ways she’s able to deal with her Schizophrenia is having her take no prisoners attitude, her camera, the magic 8 ball, and her little sister, who just so happens to be her only ally. She’s trying to stay sane long enough to get through college. She’s optimistic about her chances until she runs into Miles. Didn’t she imagine him? Pretty soon she starts having your sterotypical highschool experience. She’s used to crazy, not normalcy. What’s the catch?
What I thought
Character development: For me, Alex’s development was really good, and I really liked her. What I didn’t like was their relationship. It was weird and awkward and completely random. For me, they had zero chemistry and made me not like the story. I think if it were more of a friendship thing,g then I could have gotten my head around it.
Pacing: I’m not really sure about the pacing either. Not a whole lot happens, and the story doesn’t really get interesting until towards the end of it.
Plot: I feel like the plot had potential. I love the idea of a girl imagining a guy at 7 years old, only for her to find him in her senior year of high school. I just feel like it was filled with a lot of filler, so I think it should have either been cut in half or a little bit more excitment should have been added to it.
Overall thoughts: Overall, the story has a great premise to it and would have been an awesome story if there was more debth to it. I didn’t find myself rooting for any of the characters. I wasn’t rooting for them to become a coupl and overall their interactions were weird up until towards a quarte of the way thorugh. The story was kind of slow to me, and I kind of wish that the story wouldn’t have revolved around their relationship. Some of the stuff towards the end actually did kind of surprise me. There are quite a few things that I was not expecting at all towards the end.
