I know a lot of you are probably like me and want to know what books are going to be released. I do have to say that there are going to be a lot of great books being released in 2025 alone and looking at the releases for April….We’re in for a treat. There are quite a few April 2025 book releases that I’m pretty excited about.
I can’t wait to get my hands on a few of these!

Popular April 2025 book releases
Hopefully, some of these books catch your interest. I know the first one is probably going to be on a lot of your TBR’s. It’s definitely on mine. Other than that one there are quite a few other books on here that I know will be worthy to read.
The perfect divorce

So I read The Perfect Marriage last year with a book club and I’m so glad that I did. Usually, I don’t like reading books that have a lot of hype around it. That’s mostly because when there’s a lot of hype around a book I wind up going in with really high expectations and then wind up getting disappointed with it.
Thankfully that didn’t happen with this one. In all honesty, I’m pretty excited to read this one too. The Perfect Divorce is probably my most anticipated April 2025 book releases.
Here is what The Perfect Divorce is about.
Eleven years ago high-powered attorney Sarah defended her husband, Adam, against being charged with murdering his lover. Sarah has completely moved on, started a family with her new husband, Bob, and changed careers. As far as she knows her life is back to normal. Or is it?
After finding out that Bob was involved in a one-night stand, she immediately filed for divorce. In the middle of their horrible separation, there is new DNA evidence that is uncovered in the case against Adam. It forces the police to reopen the investigation which puts Sarah back in the spotlight. Everyone wants to know what happened and Deputy Marcus Hudson is determined to find out the truth.
When the woman that Bob slept with is reported missing, he and Sarah fight dirty in a game of cat and mouse.
The Staircase in the Woods

I know I’m going to have to get my hands on The Staircase in the Woods. There have been a lot of videos that have popped up on my TikTok for You page that revolve around staircases in the woods. This is something that has caught my attention because the idea of it just seems so interesting.
I don’t necessarily believe in this kind of thing but it does make you question whether something like this could actually happen. There are tons of things I feel like we don’t know about our world so who knows if these sorts of things could happen.
Here is what The Staircase in the Woods is about.
Five high school friends are bonded by an oath to protect each other no matter what.
When they are on a camping trip in the middle of the forest, they find a mysterious staircase that leads to nothing.
When one friend walks up, they never come back down. Then that’s when the staircase disappears.
Twenty years later the staircase is back. The group returns to find their lost friend and what secrets lie beyond the staircase.
Their Monstrous Hearts

I’m actually glad that I found out about Their Monstrous Hearts. This has to be one of the more interesting April 2025 book releases. I have to admit that the cover looks amazing!
I may not be able to get to this one anytime soon but I will be saving it to read later!
Here is what Their Monstrous Hearts is about.
There’s a mysterious stranger who shows up at Riccardo’s apartment with the news that his grandma, Perihan, has died. On top of that Riccardo has inherited her home and her butterfly collection.
He’s a struggling writer and right now he’s out of options. He hopes that the change of scenery will inspire him and he hopes he’ll find some money to keep him above water. But his grandma’s house isn’t as nice as he remembers. The butterflies seem more weird than artful. His grandma’s group of friends are constantly lurking around. To top it off there’s something wrong in the greenhouse.
Riccardo explores the area when he finds her diary which may give him an idea of what happened to her. Or maybe it’ll just give him ideas to finish his story.
As Riccardo explores the decrepit estate, he stumbles upon Perihan’s diary, which might hold the key to her mysterious death. Or at least give him the inspiration he needs to finish his manuscript.
Will he be able to survive long enough to finish his book?

Polybius

I have to admit that Polybius has really caught my attention. I love creepy that kind of revolve around video games. Hopefully, I’m not alone in finding this one really interesting.

When We Were Real

This story seems so interesting to me. I’m on the side of TikTok where people have stories of dealing with “simulation” type stuff. Honestly, it’s something that I don’t believe but I always find the stories about them really interesting and they always seem to grab my attention.
When we were real is one that I’m definitely going to have to check out!
Here is what When We Were Real is about.
JP and Dulin have been best friends for decades. But JP finds out that his cancer has come back aggressively, Dulin figures this is the perfect time for a last week-long bus tour of the Impossibles in North America. They are physically defying glitches and miracles that popped up seven years earlier. Right after that, there was an announcement that told everyone that their world was just a digital simulation. The Canterbury Trails Tours that they take promise the trip of a lifetime that just so happens to not be completely real.
The passengers are on the tour for their own reasons. On it is a nun looking for an absent God, an influencer who is pregnant is wants to make her child so famous she can’t be deleted, and a professor who is on the run. Each stop winds up being stranger than the last and the final stop is the most popular Ghost City. It’s unknown to the passengers but this is the place where they might find answers to who is running the simulation.
YA releases
I know a lot of you probably really like YA books! At least I know I do. Granted, I’m not the target audience anymore, but I still like being able to read them. So I had to include the YA April 2025 book releases in the post. Hopefully, there are quite a few on here that you find interesting!
Watch me

I feel like a lot of millennials are going to be excited about Watch Me. This is one of the April 2025 book releases that I was not expecting to make a comeback.
This series came out when I was in high school and I remember it being pretty popular back then. So I’m sure this one is going to become popular when it’s released!
Here is what Watch Me is about.
At one point James Anderson had a plan. Or at least half of one. The most important thing is that he was able to manage to do what his older brother never did. He was able to get into the Ark Island. In the last ten years, no one on the outside has ever been able to get in, but James has. Granted it’s in a prison cell, but for James, a win is a win.
It has been a decade since the fall of The Reestablishment and a decade since the worldwide rebellion that started the New Republic of the West. But after ten years of disturbing quiet, The Reestablishment is ready to make their move and they have the best person for the job.
Rosabelle always has a plan. She’s on Ark Island where there is constant surveillance that they are being told is just for security. They even have to navigate their emotions with caution. She’s a trained assassin and her every movement is being monitored and when she’s told to kill, she doesn’t hesitate.
Boys with sharp teeth

I have to admit that the cover for Boys With Such Sharp Teeth is an amazing cover! This is one of the 2025 book releases that I know I’m going to have to get my hands on sometime this year.
What do you guys think about this one?
Here is what Boys with Such Sharp Teeth is about.

When she finds out about the otherworldly secret the boys are hiding it blurs the lines between right and wrong. Her nightmare and reality crumbles and she realizes that nothing is what it looks like.
Murder Between Friends

This sounds like an amazing YA Thriller. I feel like a lot of readers are going to like this one just by the synopsis alone!
Here is what Murder Between Friends is about.
Grace, Henry, and Ally all grew up together on the same block. They used to be really good friends. That is until Grace’s testimony got Henry’s brother, Jake, put away for killing their English teacher. Two years later Ally and Henry both hate Grace and now she’s doubting what she saw that night.
It seems like all of them are getting a second chance when Jake is released because of a mistrial. Henry knows that his brother didn’t do it, but when Grace tells him that she’s rethinking what she saw that night, Jake’s reaction is confusing. He doesn’t want either of his friends to get involved.
Staying out of it is not an option for Ally, and nothing Grace says is able to convince Ally that she’s not the enemy. But can Ally really push Grace away when she’s one of the only people who believe in Jake’s innocence?
Jake’s new trial date is about to be set and he’s positive he’s going to be found guilty again. That is unless the police find new evidence that will prove he is innocent.
Night Swimming

I’m always a sucker for movies or books that take place in the 90s. I think it’s because I grew up in the 90s so it’s a nostalgia thing for me.
Night Swim has an interesting concept and I’m sure this is one of the April 2025 book releases that you should add to your TBR.
Here is what it’s about.
In the summer of 1994, Trevor and his friends have just graduated. It’s hard for him to imagine that they are finally out. His future is cloudy, possibly filled with college experiences he’s not sure about and the fact that his crush isn’t going anywhere.
But then Sarah starts talking to him and talks him into going on a mission. This summer they are going to swim in all of the pools in the neighborhood. It leads them into sneaking into backyard pools every night as they are continuously getting closer. But for Trevor, it’s not enough. He’s yearning for Sarah even though she has a college boyfriend and the fact she pulls away the moment things feel real.
When they hear about a natural pool hidden far into the woods. At the moment it’s just a spot to check off their summer bucket list. When they get there they realize that it has some sort of hold on them and there’s a whole lot of strangeness surrounding it.
The Payback Girls

This is a story that is being compared to John Tucker Must Die and I must admit that I actually really enjoyed that movie. Even though this one isn’t at the top of my list this year I’m still pretty excited to hear what you guys think!
Here is what Pay Back Girls is about.
Meghan’s senior year is going to be perfect. She won’t settle for anything less. She’s already doing a great job in her classes and dating the star of the basketball team. But Nate’s friends haven’t really been welcoming. She chops it up to never be easy being one of the only black kids in a predominately white prep school. But she didn’t expect what happened at the pep rally.
Robin and Bria have dated Nate too. In fact they ARE dating him because he never broke up with them. Meghan is pissed.
In the locker room, Nate is found bloody and passed out after the big game. The three of them are the main suspects. The only thing is that Meghan doesn’t remember everything that happened that night. When more clues are uncovered the more they start looking suspicious.
Dead Stream

Dead Stream sounds really good now that I’m rereading the synopsis again. I love creepy books with mysterious shadowy figures. I don’t what I would do if I was watching a video or something like that where I see a shadowy figure in their videos.
This may be one of the April 2025 book releases that I may have to get my hands on too. If you get this one before I do then let me know what you think about it!
Here is what Dead Stream is about.
Teresa is terrified to leave the safety of her home after surviving a car accident that killed her best friend. Ever since then, her only thing to the outside world she has is the online community she found through streaming.

On top of that, his behavior starts to change over a couple of days before he ultimately dies in front of thousands of viewers. Debut April 2025 book releases
